Today, I had English lesson which teaches us some culture and history of the aboriginal people in Australia. From 09:00 to 12:00, we had a revision on what we saw in victor harbour and granite island yesterday. To give an example, we saw some sheep, horses,Alpaca and cattle. We also took a look on the culture and history of the aboriginal in Australia. Mrs Margy showed us the fairy tale of the aboriginal. The story is like this: there was somebody who is an aboriginal in Australia. He didn't good at everything, whenever he sees others celebrate the results or achievement, he will feel ashamed. So he tried to catch some prey. But he fell to the darkness and enjoyed the life with some bad evils. Finally, his father noticed this and helped and saved him from the underground. The lesson of this story is that every people have their own ability and everyone is not perfect, we don't need to admire others. After that, we had a drama lesson with some local students. We were divided into 5 groups and tried to act 3 scenes to present an accident. In the arvo, we continued our English lesson until there was 15:00. 201

Do you still remember what I had done last Sunday? I went fishing and I got one squid! Today, our dinner was based on the squid that I got last Sunday! Alison said thanks to me, I also proud of my achievements. Although I only got one, Chris got three... This night, we had some calamari for tea and it tasted really beaut if we eat it with salad cream. It seemed not full enough because it is just a dish of snack, so we ate them with potatoes. Calamari is an American local snake which is very common. You can see it everywhere in America. Today, this was the first time that Chris tried to make this dish. And Chris also showed me how to clear the squid, and I take a 3-minutes video as my homework. It is very amazing that there is a thing like a plastic board inside the cuttlefish. There are also a lot of Black liquid in it, it is so disgusting and dirty. But it seemed that Chris didn't care this and he quite enjoy the process of cooking. He have developed my interest in cooking, I might join some interest classes about cooking in Hong Kong! I love this very much! 209 After visiting the Granite Island, we had lunch in a seaside park. In the park, there were lots of seagulls. There were at least ten, not, twenty seagulls. All of us were divided into three groups and had our lunch individually. In our lunchtime,we are the lunch which was prepared by our host family. There is something else that I am proud of, my lunch is made by Ben, my Australia mum XDD Some of my classmates screamed because they scare the animals which are going to touch them. Terry and Paul could not finish their lunch, so they feed the seagull with their sandwiches. After that, we have a look on the Oscar W, which is a ship that is drived by a patten steamer. There are no more than one hundred of this kind of ships in the world. and the ship is using as a spot now. Then, my classmates, including me, bought some souvenir in the souvenir shop. I bought a boat figure and some post cards. Although I know the price of them are pretty expensive, I still bought them because I think I have likely bought nothing in Adelaide... After I came back home, I played Xbox with Sam, and I performed better than before. The day before, I had got 2 kills and 10 deaths. I will perform better and better! At night, we had pasta with tomato sauce for tea, and this was really delicious. But I think having steak or meat only is better than having pasta. 256 Today,we went to the Granite Island in Victor Harbour. We went there by bus for two hours. Yes, we have spent more than half of our school time on the bus. In the morning, we arrived the school at nine o'clock as usual. On the way, we saw a lots of different plants or animals. For example, we saw a lot of trees and plants such as vineyard and others flowers I don't know what it is. We also saw a lot of animals like cows, cattle, alpaca, sheep and lamp. When we arrived there, the scene was next to the sea, so the temperature is very low, but not lower than the day I went fishing. What I saw on the granite island were horse drawn tram , which is a team are pulled by a horse , granite stones, which are big stone and not common to see in Australia, trees, plants, little penguins and view and so on. I was amazed when I saw the horse drawn tram, because I seldom see a team and all the teams in Hong Kong drive by electricity and not as here as pull by a horse. It is cool and interesting. The view there is really beautiful, I love there so much. Unfortunately, we couldn't see any seal or dolphin, but the notice board announce that we can see them, so all is my classmates including me are a little bit disappointed. 240 In the afternoon, we had a lesson on baking ANZAC cookies. I never hear this before. The teacher who tought us making the cookies introduced the method to make the cookies and the importance of it in history. She said that it is a food that can be kept as a long period, so it is the food for the Australia army in the Second World War. Making this cookies need to add a lot of sugar and sweet... So I think the energy and the fat and the sugar in it are too high! My team, Terry and I, baked the cookies according to the instructions which was given by the teacher. And we made the cookies successfully. And At this time, I still not have a try on them yet, but I give some of them to others and they said the cookies are good. In my situation, I dislike the cookies because of its peanut, I hate peanut! At night, we had some chicken wings, chicken nuggets and French fries which are bought from KFC for tea. I think they are good! But my host mother, Alison, told me not to take a photo, I don't know why, but I was still going to take a photo of this tasty dish! And I am willing to try it agin in HK.But there are no French fries in Hong Kong's KFC ... By the way, I like fast food very much!!!! 243 Today, we joined the soccer lesson, art lesson and IT lesson at BPIHS. In Australia, there are two kinds of football, one was created by American and the other was crated by Chinese. The first one is called football here and the second one is called soccer here. In the morning, we participated the soccer lesson at first. We had some warming up activities and had some trainings on soccer. I found a teammates which looks like the most strong. Later on , the coach held some competitions for us and my team performed well. We won in every competition. Unfortunately, there are no prize. After that, we joined the art lesson, and we had some practice on origami. Each of us have to make a frog with paper. And there are some lines on the paper which noticed us how to make the frog that the teacher had demonstrated. At last, we had a IT lesson on 3D animation. I tried to make a airplane with polygons and I think it seems not bad. And it is too hard to make the windows of the airplane, so I just made that with polygons and that was the worst position of my plane. 203 Today, we joined a level 9 class at BPIHS. Our classmates and I were divided into two teams. We joined different classes.Terry's team went to an environmental protection lesson, and my team went to the science lesson. Fortunately, I can still emembere what I had learnt about radiation in form 3. This helped me following what the teacher was teaching the students during the lesson. They talked about the heat transfer, like the matter which can affect the speed of the heat transfer. All the groups in my team test which surface can emit and release heat faster. But I knew the answer already because I had learnt it before. After school, I bought a Nerf Gun at Tea Tree Plaza Shopping Centre, and I am going to play it with my friends in HK. But it seems that there are no huge area for us to play gun game... I bought the Nerf gun here because the price of the Nerf gun is twice than here. A small gun here is being sold ten Australian dollars, that's equal to sixty Hong Kong dollars, but I search the price of that gun in Hong Kong is being sold one hundred and twenty dollars. I think there is a must to buy some more extra bullets because it is easy to loss or miss the bullets. Whenever we shoot the bullets, we don't know where they gone. At night, I had Chicken Kiev and steamed vegetables for dinner. It was really tasty. 251 Today we went to a primary school and tought primary students to make a star with colourful red packets. Before we did what we had prepared before we came here, they need to ask us some questions to know more about us, such as our family, our birthdays, our habit, and so on. After that, I demonstrated how to make this with Carmen. Actually, I just need to show but not speak. And each group finished their star with a high speed. When all of them finished their stars, I am still not yet. Tell you secretly, I just learn how to make the star in the same day. We are going to make a fish with red packets originlly. But the amount of red packets we brought here were not enough to make fishes, so we just change to make a star which need not so much of red packets. Each of us both of the primary student and my classmares and I made a shiny star for ourselves. But what I am thinking of is that the stars are unnecessary for us, so I suggest my classmates give our stars to the primary students. I saw their face after receiving our stars, happiness and excitement, I also felt good because of their happiness. 215 Today, I went fishing with Chris and we have stayed on the sea for five hours. What thing that amazed me the most this today is Chris got a so big dogfish shark! Look so long and big it is! I have never imagine that we( actually not including me) can get a shark! I got three fishes today but they are just too small. And Chris got eight fishes that some are small and some are not. But we just threw all them back to the sea. I asked Paul if they do this and Paul said the reason they do this is because of the government have launched some policies to protect the environment in Adelaide. I think it is fun to go fishing. Especially when you see there is a fish getting fished. And we took lots of photos of the sunset and the view. It is really beautiful! Tell you something secretly, Chris let me to drive his boat! This is vey fun and this is a good experiences to do so. I think no one in my class have ever done this! And he helped me to take a video which recorded I drove the boat! 200 Today I want fishing with Chris, and we stayed for about 5 hours. Somebody like Paul might ask if you stay on the sea for the whole day. My answer is Sure! Why not? I will probably answer like this because I was excited toward fishing this activity. In the morning , I woke up at ten o'clock. You might interested the reason why we do not go fishing in the morning. I think the reason is that today is weekend, Chris need some more time to take a rest that the weekday he does miss. Also, I think that the temperature of the sea was very cold, especially in the morning and evening. And this is the first time for me to go fishing. I think it is a good result for me, I have got 3 little tiny fishes and one middle size cuttlefish. And what did we eat for lunch is potato chips and orange juice. There is no washroom and no toilet, so we had to use my hand to take the potato chips to the mouth but we had used our hands to catch the warms... I have had lots of fun. hopefully I can go fishing again in HK( I think it is a little bit hard, because I cannot find a boat in Hong Kong, the price is too expensive... ) 228 |
